05. MODIFIED ROSIN RESINS
Modified rosin resins are reaction-engineered products using superior properties of abietic acid in rosin. These special resins are made by modifying a synthetic resin with a natural resin, which is rosin. Their performance is determined mainly by rosin as the modifier. Acid modified rosins are very useful in ink, varnish, coating applications, and thermoplastic road-marking compounds.
